The First Trains


Here you will find resources and web links to enable you to find out all about the invention of the railways.

You will be researching who invented the train as a form of transportation and what the early trains were like.


You will find out about the opening of Bray Railway Station, and its effects on the town.

1804: Richard Trevithick built a steam locomotive in Wales.

 However, like most first models, it was highly unreliable.
